Our Story

"COLORES" tie-dyed products are a labor of love. I started tie dyeing in the late 60's, but gave it up due to the poor quality of dyes on the market at that time. It was too frustrating to have designs fade and eventually disappear after a few washings.

I was introduced to Procion dyes in 1989. I was thrilled with the permanence and the wide range of colors. My enthusiasm to the tie-dye was rekindled. I started out selling tie-dyed T-shirts to friends and from there word spread and "COLORES" was born. I now sell to a wide variety of teams, clubs, church groups, reunion committees and fundraising organizations. I also conduct workshops. My motto is: "Have Dye, Will Travel!"

You can tell by my signature pieces that I like bright, vivid colors, precise lines and the use of tritiking. No natural fiber is off limits. I tie-dye shirts, dresses, sheets, underwear, diapers, socks and you name it. Keep in mind as you look through my tie-dye product line that pastel colors are available instead of the normal bright tie-dye colors if you choose.

I also enjoy making glass, lampworked beads, or "Funky Chunkys" as I call them. They are colorful, whimsical and just make you feel good to see or wear them. Each piece is unique. I use the "Funky Chunkys" to make tie-dye earrings, tie-dye necklaces, tie-dye pendants and tie-dye dolls.

You will notice as you look through our tie-dye products that many of them are displayed by two very distinguished young people. One is my son CJ, the other is Chris, a cousin. A special thanks goes out to the two of them for their endless patience and big smiles.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my tie-dye web site and remember - "Your life is as colorful as you make it!"
